A non-regulated profession
As the profession of probate genealogist is not regulated, and there is no generally binding code of ethics for probate genealogists, An Stofferis, in collaboration with the honorary president of the French sister organization Généalogistes de France decided to establish the Belgian Federation of Probate Genealogists GEN-B on November 18, 2024. GEN-B aims to promote the recognition of the profession among legal practitioners and the general public. It also seeks to regulate the activity of probate genealogy by creating tools that offer the best guarantees.
